Syracuse University's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders fosters a collaborative learning environment that furthers the understanding of communication and the scientific basis of clinical practice.
- Financial Support - Receive a guaranteed 30% reduced tuition scholarship if you enter in fall of 2026. Over the last three years 100% of incoming students have also received scholarship awards to help offset tuition costs. No separate funding application is required.
- Flexible Application Options - Students with a background in communication sciences may apply to our five-semester program. If you do not have a background, apply to our seven-semester program; you'll do your introductory coursework here at Syracuse.
- Clinical Experience - Students begin their clinical experience at the very start of their graduate program. The on-campus Gebbie Clinic and off-site clinical placements provide excellent hands-on training.
- Strong Preparation for Licensure - We provide the courses and practicums you'll need to meet requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence and New York State Licensure. After completing our program, you can also become certified as a teacher of students with speech-language disabilities in New York State.
