Earn your degree in nutrition science

Prepare for careers in nutrition counseling, education, research or allied health professions with a Nutrition Science M.A. degree.

David B. Falk College of Sport’s graduate program in nutrition science is designed for students who want to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)*. It integrates didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning, preparing graduates for credentialing and practice in clinical, community and food service management settings. 

  • Accreditation: Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics-accredited (meets eligibility for the RDN exam) 
  • Program Length: Typically, two years (full-time only, 51-credit hours; including summer in second year) 
  • Capstone: Comprehensive examination 
  • Career Paths: Clinical dietetics, nutrition education, nutrition counseling and food service management 

Students have opportunities to receive departmental financial aid in the form of assistantships and tuition discounts to help offset tuition costs. No separate funding application is required.

* Applicants must have completed course prerequisites or earned a verification statement from an accredited didactic program in dietetics (DPD).
